Gymnocalycium ragonesei
A three-year-old plant with a spherical shape and regular ribs, it gives us wonderful flowers in spring.
Seemingly simple due to their rounded shape, they unleash all their energy and vitality in spring thanks to their showy, colourful flowers ranging from white to all shades of pink and red. Some varieties have small thorns clinging to the stem, others have hard, nasty thorns.
The thing that always excites us when looking at one of these flowering plants is to see where the buds come from. The buds are released at the apex of the plant and have to fight with the thorns in order to bloom in all their beauty. This incredible strength of the buds is such that the flowers do not get stung or wasted in their fight with the thorns. This is the strength of elegance. There are no thorns that can resist it.
The colouring of the stems is generally green. Look at this plant from above to admire its perfect geometry.
