Sulcorebutia sp. is a small, globular cactus with a tendency to accrete, thus forming very interesting compositions from an aesthetic point of view. The stem has no obvious veins and is, instead, organised in small, barely noticeable tubercles. The spines tend to be small and numerous and often cover the entire surface of the plant. The colours are the most varied, depending on the species: bright green, dark green, purplish or reddish for the stem; white or bright yellow or brown for the spines. The flowers are relatively large in relation to the stem and can be pink, red, yellow or orange. Flowering occurs at the base of the plant, during the day, from a young age.
